The specific design was one of Gottsmann Architects first designs, and ultimately laid down many of the fundamentals we employed in future designs. The design led Gottsmann Architects to both identify and understand the rich context in which we find ourselves. A fresh twist of contemporary elements was merged with elements of the vernacular farm house. Subtle yet vibrant. Much of the single storey house is located along the perimeter of the street corner. This allowed for the living and entertainment areas to be concealed from neighbouring views. The custom-made sliding garage doors and screens showcased the use of natural timber, and allowed the facades to change for use.
The end product, displayed a mix of colour, texture and materials. A celebration of the vernacular with deliberation towards the future.
